Vintgar gorge and Skofja Loka

An earlier start than normal to miss the crowds, our first stop of the day is the Vintgar gorge which is 4km from Bled, the walk through the gorge is mainly on a wooden boardwalk above the crystal clear mountain stream,

it is a 2 mile round trip to the waterfall and back.

We head south towards the capital Ljubljana on back roads through small villages, diverting to Skofja Loka which is very typically old eastern European.

Another short drive to our resting place for the night in a motorhome park at the deserted Kanu Hotel on the outskirts of Smlednik about 17km north of Ljubljana.
