Bled

The day starts off with a short drive to a nearby waterfall called Slap Savica, the information board says it’s an easy 20 minute walk, which turns out to be an uphill 45 minute slog, but when we get there it’s worth the walk as the waterfall is in a spectacular setting.

Another short drive takes us to the resort town of Bled with its lake and only island in Slovenia.

High above the lake on the clifftop is the castle and in the distance we can see Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain.

Our second bout of exercise of the day is a walk round the lake which is about 4 miles in total

we spot a little shingle house on the lake shore.

following the walk we have a swim in the lakes cooling crystal clear waters.

Again the nights’ accommodation is a campsite surrounded by motorhomes from Germany, Sweden, Norway, France, Italy and Holland.
