Lost

First stop today the town of Peso Regua with its sky high motorway bridge spanning the River Doure

then to the town of Castelo Paiva and south to Arouca passing some stunning scenery at every turn.

Then after lunch it all went strange, we asked the satnav to take us to Sao Pedrol de Sul (about 40km SE) as we passed through some villages it told me to turn down what looked like very narrow roads, so knowing better than an electronic thing I made my own decision and ignored it,it kept demanding that I turned round until I ended up switching it off and just taking the larger of any two roads that we came to (if at all signposted to anywhere they weren't to places on the map we had). We have no idea where we went to today as the satnav threw a wobbly and refused to tell me where we were, none of the roads were on the map so here’s some photos of a part of Portugal probably not visited by anyone ever.

One road sign "FEM DE TROCO" we pondered over for a while obviously said end of road ahead

as we found out after driving for about an hour through some very narrow village streets.

In one we noticed that they build small houses for its elderly members of the family to live in,

we were told they are called “grannieries”.
We stop for the night up in the mountains surrounded by majestic wind turbines. What a great day !!
