a cupboard full of sausages and some more spring blossom

An amazing day visiting villages in the river Douro valley,

more almond blossom than you could ever expect to see in one place.

First town is Torre de Moncorvo

then up to Vilar Flor,

 on to mirandela

which hosts the Portugese round of the jetski world championships (and it’s nowhere near the sea).

West to Murca

before heading south through Alijo

and Tua

back to the Douro river where Grahams Port is made.

(probably the best in Portugal if not the world as it can only be called Port if it’s made in this little corner of the country) After a day spent buying local wines, liqueurs, port, almonds, figs and sausages (what a mixture,it's a good job there's plenty of places to empty our toilet en-route !!).
We’re well and truly worn out and pitch up for the night on the outskirts of Sao Joao Da Pesqueira.
