It just gets better

Next morning we Awake to a mild frost, we’ve decided to keep our clocks set to Spanish time as this gives us later lighter evenings and we don’t need to catch any trains or anything so it doesn’t really matter that much. A quick stop off at Chaves to shop and we travel east into the Parque Natural de Monteshino passing through some medieval looking villages and more incredible scenery at every turn.

Portugal is surprising us with its beauty and this area is not visited by tourists as much as the south. We arrive in Braganca and visit the castle which is free to wander round,

parking is also free everywhere so far which is a definite plus point, fuel is a little more expensive than Spain which has by far been the cheapest so far. We stop for the night by the river on the outskirts of Rio de Onor which is half in Spain and half in Portugal,

will go for a wander round in the morning.
