Well, it all starts out cloudy, rainy and even a hail storm as we get ready to leave for the day, but as we descend back down out of the hills to sea level the sun comes out and it’s a fine day.
It would be nice to stop off and have a look around Imperia, the old walled capital of ancient Liguria,
it would also be nice to stop off and experience the grandeur that is Sanremo with its famous casino and botanical gardens, not a bloody chance, there is absolutely no-where for a 6 metre campervan that is 3m high to even get into a car-park let alone find a space big enough to fit in one, we follow signs to a “special camper parking lot” only to find it closed as they have the fair in town.
after driving for the whole day with a brief stop for lunch in a recycling area (the only space free to park) we end up in a car park in the town of Camporosso
complete with its church clock chiming every half hour, it’s going to be another noisy night. Oh well we’re off out to find a restaurant, so we’ll catch you all later.

So our only chance of finding a spot for the night is to head off back up into the mountains,

An update to the evening, after getting all dressed up and raring for an Italian night out, whilst on our evening “passeggiata” we failed to find a single eating establishment open, all we could find in this pitiful little town in the back of beyond was a butchers shop and a bar full of teenagers playing a space invaders type video game. Can’t even buy a pizza in Italy. So it was back to the van and we’ve just had burger and chips which was lurking in the back of the freezer for such an eventuality. Must admit we’re not impressed at all with Italy so far.
