Rudely awoken by a commuter train roaring into the station, muffled announcements and another roar and it was gone. Well, judging by the amount of water lying around outside it must have been raining all night long, the plan was to drive up to the Col de Turini and spend time in the mountains, however we can’t see further than 50m in front of the van so we abandon that idea.
On a mission today to find a restaurant for our 11th wedding anniversary, it has quite a lot of criteria so it could be tricky. Firstly and most importantly we need to be able to park the van somewhere we can stop for the night which is in walking distance of said restaurant, then it has to be of some quality that it has table cloths and a menu that doesn’t involve steak hache.
To cut a long, long story short we end up in the town of Valbonne where we stop in a car park in the centre of town, there we narrow the choice down to two restaurants and retire to the van to get ready to dine. Its 19:00 and I’m ready for some food, let’s hope the vans still here when we get back.

A lie-in is all that we ask
If not hunters, its trains flying past
Its rifles at dawn
Or commuters that yawn
To the mountains ! For peace and quiet, fast
