Northwards

Not wanting to risk another 2 hours of cleaning egg out of everywhere, it’s just toast for breakfast this morning. They say people up north are harder than their southern brothers, I am beginning to wonder if that is the same for everything, even the water takes longer to boil here !

A few photos of the journey and by the way there was no fog on the Tyne

Newbiggin by the sea

The dramatic Northumberland coastline

Bamburgh Castle

Next place to visit was Lindisfarne, or the Holy Island as it likes to be called.

Timing our visit perfectly to coincide with low tide allows us to drive straight over and grab a free car parking space on the outskirts of the village.

A walk around the island to view the castle

And some of the local fisherman’s cottages

After leaving The Holy Island its northwards and..... OCH AYE THE NOO!!!!

Not quite as dramatic as other borders we’ve crossed but there was absolutely nothing on the other side of the road entering England !

A few miles up the road brings us to our first free camping spot

Not too shabby a view eh

where we have sundowners
