Sumeg and The Balaton Uplands National Park

After spending another day at the thermal lake we’re well and truly invigorated into moving on. First stop is the Tesco Hypermarket down the road where we can stock up on stuff where we have a good choice of products for the first time since Lake Maggiore in Italy.
Next stop is Sumeg where they have a castle impressively situated high above the town,

we walk up and find that when we get there it’s still being built.

Although there wasn’t much to see at the castle we were able to partake of a cinnamon Kurtoskalac

(a kind of spiraly tubular sweet warm doughy bread with a crispy coating)

We visit their church which has a decorative interior

And here’s a few pics of our journey 30km south

You still see a few trabants on the road

By the time you’ve pronounced that place you’ve driven through it

Eventually we arrive at our wildcamp for the night on the edge of the Balaton Uplands National Park.
