A short drive and we’re at a campsite in the city of Budapest, the city is a vast sprawl made up into numbered districts, a bit like Paris, we’re in the 8th which is best known for its prostitution.
We walk to the railway station and within a few minutes on a very antiquated underground “train” we arrive in the centre of the city which is a big mixture of architectural styles, gothic, neo-classical, baroque and art nouveau to name a few (not that we can tell the difference, it just sounds good though eh !).
Enough waffle, here’s some pics of our days walking tour of both Buda on the west bank.
And a trip down the underground passages where they have a weird exhibiton of everyday objects that they claim to have unearthed millions of years ago ( it's prime function is to confuse our future generations when they unearth them in years to come)
They do have probably the best set of cave paintings ever found !!
the locals who inhabit the caves are a bit strange.
And Pest on the east.
With St Stephens Basilica
A chapel on the side of the basilica called the chapel of the severed hand..... contains....., yes you’ve guessed it, the mummified severed hand of St Stephen.
By far the most impressive, and the largest building in Hungary is their Parliament.
