Losing our marbles

Vila Vicosa is the first stop of the day,

a very polished town dominated by its palace made of marble, in fact everything that can be made of marble is in fact crafted from the stuff in this town, and there's mountains of the stuff surrounding the town.

and also the towns of Estremoz

and Evoramonte.

Here’s a stork on a dead tree.

Evora which has the title of “Portugal’s prettiest city” has roman ruins within its walls and a warren of narrow streets to explore.

The fortified hilltop village of Monsaraz is a gem of a place with stunning views overlooking Europes largest reservoir “Alqueva”, which crosses the border into Spain.

 Two storks.

A brief stop off in Mourao

 Here’s a grapefruit tree,

and two pointy things.

And we wildcamp next to the marina near the dam wall of Alqueva. (Friday 18th March)
