where we notice that a stork has built its nest on top of the church bell tower.
Then past the reservoir at Meimoa.
Passing through some narrow village streets meeting donkeys and sheep.
Next on to Belmonte, which has an interesting mix of Arabian and Portugese architecture
and is surrounded by fields of cherry and peach trees.
Just outside of town is this strange structure which has been given the name Centum Cellas
it is thought to have been Roman in origin and probably used later as a watch tower it apparently has 40 window openings and is surrounded by the ruins of other structures thought to be part of a Roman villa or fortress, but if anybody has any other ideas .....
We wildcamp for the night just outside the provincial city of Guarda.
Forecast is for rain for the next couple of days, not what we came to Portugal for!
