At last we reach the Algarve

First stop of the day is the town of Serpa but just to do a spot of shopping,

moving on to Mertola just before lunch where I was able get a good enough wifi connection to update five days worth of blog posts. Nice views over the river to the walled village and castle.

Passing fields of yellow flowers

and goats

we arrive in the border town of Alcoutim

famous for its artistic painted tiles.

We follow the border which is the river Guardiana south

passing some windmills

and 3 pointy things

until we arrive at Castro Marim where we make use of the free motorhome servicing facilities.

Finally we arrive on the Algarve coast together with about five hundred other motorhomes of all shapes and sizes from all across Europe taking advantage of the warm climate.

But never mind the beach is nice.

Oh nearly forgot here’s our “Stork of the day” photo.
