relentless rain

Well, we survived the night with not very much sleep due to the van being buffeted by the gale force winds gusting across the lake. We decide to make a run for it after a lazy start to the day, at one point we notice a load of seaweed strewn across the road ahead, wondering how it got there we approach it only to be covered in the stuff as the wind is blowing it off the sea across the road. The wind has died down considerably by the time we reached Killarney where we stop off to food shop. Here we depart on the famous picturesque “Ring of Kerry” a circular tourist drive around the Iveragh peninsula. (which is supposed to be done in an anti-clockwise direction, so we do as we’re told !!). We leave the route just after Killorglin and park up for the night in a beach car park near the village of Cromane where it’s still raining.
