Snowdon and Anglesey

A short drive takes us to Llanberis, the base for all things Mount Snowdon. It’s a gamble with the weather but we decide to do it, £25 per person for the journey by train to the summit where we have only 30 minutes to visit the summit to be guaranteed a return ride down. It is however enough as when you reach the dizzying height of 1085m there is nothing to see as it’s under cloud. We agree it was worth doing for the train journey as we are able to get some superb views across north wales,

the onboard commentary tells us we can see Scotland, England and Ireland.

 Not today !!

on the summit and yes that is snow by Jo's feet

just to prove we did make it !!

A drive across the old menai suspension bridge for the first time in what must be at least 35 years takes us to the island of Anglesey.

we camp for the night in church bay with a really bad analogue tv signal giving us 2 tv channels from Ireland, no mobile phone signal or internet connection.

Still what do you expect, it is out of season after all !!
