County Donegal

A misty start to the day gives way eventually as we drive into Donegal and we’re treated to some reasonable weather to view the Slieve league cliffs.

Further on we drive over the Glengesh pass

and on to Assermeagh waterfall.

We wildcamp for the night on the beach at Dooey point.

Continuing on in County Donegal the weather again makes the scenery dramatic with a visit to Horn head.

Further on on the Atlantic drive round the northwest coast is Fanad head with its lighthouse

 and the beach at Portsalon

which was voted as the second best beach in the world by the Observer(methinks the person who compiled the list hasn’t travelled much, don’t get me wrong it is a pretty beach but we’ve been on better).

We wildcamp for the night at Fort Dunree on the Inishowen peninsula.
