Seeking Inspiration

Rural central Wales is quite run down in a lot of places, maybe it’s due to it being Autumn and out of season but it all seems a bit grey, even when the sun does make a very welcome appearance.
There are some very beautiful areas without doubt but the area we’ve just driven through isn’t one of them.
We stop off in Hay-on-Wye to look at some bookshops and listen to people speaking in a more familiar tongue, then needing a hit of some picturesque scenery head off into the Brecon beacons national park.

We stop mid afternoon on the shore of Talybont reservoir where we wildcamp for the night.

Or do we..... after switching on the tv at about 5:45 for Jo to watch strictly, surprise surprise there’s no tv signal at all. So we move on to find a new spot for the night, three unsuccessful stops and two hours later and we’re in a layby on the edge of the Forest of Dean its now 8:00 and we’ve missed the program anyway.
So here’s both views from the bedroom window, before and after.

talybont resevoir bedroom window view.

view of the lay-by, taken the next morning
