A beautiful autumnal morning with clear blue skies and Justin, Chrissy, Louis and Rosa join us for a day out in the forest of dean which kicks off with a visit to puzzle woods which consists of a small animal farm with the usual pygmy goats and other furry animals, an adventure playground, outdoor willow maze, indoor maze, and a mile long trail through the woods with interesting bridges and grottos to explore. After lunch in the van and a family “pile on” in the picnic area we move on deeper into the forest where we find evidence of wild boar rooting for food, pick sweet chestnuts and play hide and seek. To end the day there’s a handing out of presents we bought back from our trip to Scotland which consists of a musical haggis for Rosa “och aye the noo” and a c u jimmy tartan hat with attached ginger hair for Louis, oh and two sticks of Scottish rock.
We wild camp for the night at a picnic area in the forest.
