Day 1 of 60

A good nights sleep and a strange breakfast we’re raring to go and explore KL, the street outside the hotel which had market stalls crammed into it last night

was empty this morning

A train ride takes us into the centre to the Petronas towers which are linked by a glass bridge, we arrive just too late to get one of todays free tickets to have the guided visit, so here’s a photo from outside down below.

After taking the monorail round town to get views of the city

we take the bus 13km to Batu where there is a 43m high Murga statue (the highest in the world).

272 steps lead up alongside to a series of caves dotted with shrines

and monkeys run around stealing any bits of food they can find.

the locals seem friendly enough.

KL seems to be quite a small city in comparison to other major Asian cities and there’s a lot of greenery around,

the usual Asian aromas waft through the warm air while exotic birds flutter overhead, it also seems to be hassle free - nobody wanting to show you their wares at every turn, it’s quite a pleasant experience.
